The Capital Cup

The Capital Cup is back this season for 10U B and 12U B teams.

The highlight of this tournament is the Stanley Cup-like trophy presentation complete with white glove treatment!

The Cormick Cup

The Cormick Cup is played in memory of friend and longtime Capitals player Cormick Scanlan.

Through this tournament we honor his legacy and celebrate his passion for the sport of hockey.

This affordable and memorable tournament is open to Squirt B and Squirt C levels.

It will take place over the January 3-5th weekend and is sure to fill quickly.

Summer Development Camp Registration is Open!

Registration is open for the Capitals Summer Development Camp. We have once again partnered with Tom Vannelli’s ACE Hockey Camps to offer our players outstanding summer hockey camps at an excellent value.

The camp will mid-June through mid-August, for Mites/8U and Squirt/10U through Bantam/15U skaters and goalies. Skater sessions will be led by Dane Erickson, the Caps former director of player development and Seamus Donahue, current European pro player and Caps summer development coach the past two years. Goalie sessions will again be led by David Zevnik. Tom Vannelli will coordinate the camps.

Congrats to Caps selected to CCM High Performance teams

Congratulations to Caps that made CCM Minnesota Hockey High Performance Spring teams!

This program is designed to identify and develop the best players ages 14-18 in Minnesota and to provide the top players from each district or section a chance to play with and against the best players in their area and the state.

The CCM High Performance Spring programs are conducted in conjunction with USA Hockey and are referred to as “Select” programs in other parts of the country. These programs provide players the opportunity to advance to national festivals/camps which are used by USA Hockey to identify the top performers in each age group for possible opportunities to represent the U.S.A. at advanced levels of national and international hockey competition.

Congrats to our Caps MN Selects participants!

Congratulations to Haddie Moore, Sloane Scanlan, Ada Goettl, and E Salonek for being part of the championship team at the 36th annual Minnesota Selects Hockey Festival.

The Caps were well represented by these 2011 girls as well as 2014 Lucas Peine, 2013 Lauren Woessner, and 2010 Desi Bustos.

Every year since 1988, the non-profit Minnesota Selects has held a three-day festival comprised of 680 youth hockey players throughout the entire state. There are both boys and girls divisions with the main focus being that of honoring players not only for their hockey ability, but also for their academic achievements. 8U B Blue shines at end of season jamboree

Wow! What a way to finish up a great season of hockey. The Caps 8U B Blue had a blast at the end of season jamboree with Mounds View and Stillwater at the Super Rink. Plus, Vivianne won the shootout competition. There's a lot of nice hardware in this picture. Way to go, 8U B Blue!

Congrats to Squirt B2 Red

We're excited to offer our belated congratulations to the Caps Squirt B2 Red team. They brought home the Fargo Squirt International Tournament consolation championship hardware back in February. Congratulations!

Hearty congratulations go out to our MVI-STP 15U A, 15U B Blue, 15U B Green, Caps Peewee A, and Bantam AA teams on their Region tourneys. They all brought their competitive spirit and we are so proud of them. Stick taps all around. An extra shout out to those players and families that played their final association games. Thank you. Peewee A clinch a spot at Regions!

Congratulations to the Peewee A team who is advancing to Regions this weekend. Their ticket was punched with a convincing 5-1 victory over White Bear Lake. They continued their D2 tourney with a 2nd place match up against MVI where they battled hard and lost a tough one 3-2 in OT.

Show this team some love. Head on up to Forest Lake Friday afternoon to see them in action against Champlin Park as they get their Region Tournament bracket started. Good luck and play hard!

Squirt A take 3rd in Fargo Squirt International!

The Squirt A team had a great time at the famous Fargo Squirt International Tourney outscoring their opponents 33-22. After dropping the first game to a tough Grand Rapids, MN team, they cruised to victory over Sartell and Spring Lake Park, scoring double digits in each game. They went on to beat Roseau in their third place game to win a trophy and medals. Along with all the famous pin trading that surely took place, these kids came back with quite a bit of hardware. Congratulations to the team, team staff, and super fans that traveled for this great experience. Roll, Caps!
